Massage Retainer™ Terms

Magnifying glass over letters spelling ‘Glossary,’ representing terminology for massage retainers

  1. Massage Retainer™
A structured, long-term therapeutic care agreement offering prioritized scheduling, continuity of care, and deeply integrated support within a private home or travel environment.
  2. Concierge Massage
High-touch, in-home or on-location therapeutic bodywork coordinated through the household or EA. More elevated than standard mobile massage; adapted to the principal’s environment, schedule, and lifestyle.
  3. Travel Activation Clause
A premium fee structure and logistical protocol activated when the therapist is required to travel with the principal or household. Covers flights, ground transport, packing requirements, schedules, equipment delivery, and readiness across multiple destinations.
  4. Household Integration
The seamless alignment of the therapist’s workflow with the rhythms, routines, and privacy expectations of a private household. Ensures sessions happen quietly, predictably, and without disrupting family, staff, or principal operations.
  5. High-Touch vs. Low-Touch Communication
High-touch: Proactive updates, coordinated check-ins, and anticipatory communication.
Low-touch: Minimal communication beyond session confirmations, preferred by principals who value privacy and space.
  6. Clinical Intake
A health and safety questionnaire completed before care begins. Ensures the therapist is working with accurate information and protects both the household and therapist without sharing unnecessary medical details.
  7. Continuity of Care
The therapeutic progression built session-to-session that allows the therapist to track patterns, recovery, and outcomes across the retainer period.
  8. Wellness Infrastructure
The customized therapeutic environment created within the home or travel setting — including table setup, linens, lighting, temperature, equipment, household flow, and any communication pathways with other care providers (if applicable).
